Oregon Credit Union Boost System Performance
PerfectDisk 10 Family of Defrag Products Help Virtual, Physical and Exchange System Performance
Raxco Software, the leader in disk defragmentation today announced that Northwest Community Credit Union of Oregon, with over $600 million in assets, has selected PerfectDisk 10 Server, PerfectDisk 10 Exchange and PerfectDisk 10 for ESX Server for its disk defragmentation and storage needs. Nortwest Community Credit Union has a staff of over 250 people in 15 locations across several Oregon counties.
The credit union maintains 35 physical servers, 30 virtual servers running VMware’s ESX Server and a Microsoft® Exchange server that handles 270 users. The servers run the credit union’s core financial platform, process loans, house multiple databases, provide file, digital document, email and voicemail storage, host a website and handle business administration. With PerfectDisk, the company has automated the defragmentation of its physical servers and ESX servers, and has automated the compaction and defragmentation of its Exchange server.
“By completely automating the defragmentation process across all our servers, we’ve made our systems faster, made them more reliable and stable, and improved our storage capability by eliminating wasted disk space,” said Brian Cooper, disaster recovery project manager at Northwest Community Credit Union. “Before deploying PerfectDisk, we typically waited for a problem to arise before defragmenting, and that resulted in extra time being wasted, as well as generally slower systems. With PerfectDisk’s automation, all our users are benefitting from faster-running systems, and PerfectDisk’s Virtual Aware capability in the ESX environment ensures there are no resource contention issues in our virtualization environment.” “We’re happy to have Northwest Community Credit Union as a PerfectDisk user,” said Joe Abusamra, vice president of operations at Raxco Software. “It’s a great example of an organization saving money and providing benefits to its employees and customers via PerfectDisk’s automation and thoroughness.”
