New Version of PerfectDisk the Leading Windows Disk Defragmenter Is Fastest Yet, Uses Fewer Resources, and Continues to Stand Alone with Multiple Microsoft Certifications

Raxco Software, the leader in defragmentation software, has announced the release of PerfectDisk^® Version 7.0, the newest version of its leading enterprise disk defragmentation and optimization utility.  With Version 7.0, PerfectDisk now defragments even the largest drives up to 20% faster than previous versions, while utilizing 20% less memory and 20% fewer CPU resources.  Version 7.0 also introduces a completely redesigned user interface and other enhancements that solidify PerfectDisk as the premier enterprise disk defragmenter in the world.  PerfectDisk Version 7.0 is the only defragmenter certified by Microsoft^® for Windows Server^® 2003 and Windows^® 2000 Server. 

Already the fastest and most complete defragmentation tool available, PerfectDisk Version 7.0 defragments drives up to twenty percent faster than Version 6.0.  It does this while continuing to defragment more files, including all metatdata files, than any other defragmenter and consolidating free space in a single pass.  Version 7.0 also consumes twenty percent fewer resources than previously.  This reduction, combined with PerfectDisk’s patented SMART Placement^™ optimization strategy, ensures users the minimal amount of resources are used to perform the most complete defragmentation job.  By strategically placing files on a drive according to usage patterns and consolidating free space, PerfectDisk reduces the rate of refragmentation, resulting in fewer resources being consumed.  Independent benchmarks performed by Balder Technology Group, Inc., experts in the Windows NT system, have confirmed PerfectDisk’s approach to free space consolidation, indicating it results in better performing systems with less resource consumption than competing products.

PerfectDisk Version 7.0 also provides a brand new user interface that has the familiar Windows XP look and feel.  This new interface gives users easy-to-use icons to navigate the analysis, defragmentation, scheduling, and reporting functions of PerfectDisk.

PerfectDisk Version 7.0 delivers additional capabilities as well.  PerfectDisk now supports increasingly popular mount points, allowing users to defragment mount point drives that do not have drive letters associated with them.  A new Network Configuration Management Wizard allows users to globally set most of PerfectDisk’s configuration options without using Microsoft’s Active Directory^® service.  This provides even more flexibility to enterprise management.  And for those users utilizing PerfectDisk’s Perfect Management^™ Active Directory integration, Version 7.0 now provides the ability to schedule defragmentation runs for specific drives within an Organizational Unit.  This gives enterprises increased flexibility and control over how and when their resources are utilized.
