USPTO Selects PerfectDisk to Improve PC Performance and Enable More Efficient Workflow
Raxco Software, the leader in disk defragmentation software, today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has purchased its PerfectDisk® defragmentation technology for deployment on 10,500 workstations in 2006.
USPTO employees access vast numbers of records on a daily basis, making PC speed a requirement for nearly every task. With PerfectDisk’s patented optimization strategy SMARTPlacement™ technology, files are organized according to usage patterns, resulting in larger blocks of free space, a reduction in future defragmentation run times, and reduced resource usage and increased PC speed.
PerfectDisk Version 7.0, the newest version of its leading enterprise disk defragmentation and optimization utility, defragments even the largest drives up to 20 percent faster than previous versions, while utilizing 20 percent less memory and 20 percent fewer CPU resources. Version 7.0 also introduced a completely redesigned user interface and other enhancements that solidify PerfectDisk as the premier enterprise and consumer disk defragmenter in the world.
“Our innovative SMARTPlacement technology was granted a patent by the USPTO so it is fitting that it is now being used by its original reviewers,” said Joe Abusamra, vice president of operations at Raxco Software, Inc. “We are extremely pleased that such a highly esteemed office has chosen to use PerfectDisk. The initial purchase, as well as next year’s deployment, is additional proof that PerfectDisk is the leading defragger for users with a demand for true innovation, whether at home or in the enterprise.”
